Two Birds Foundation was born from a simple observation: in our community, restaurants close their kitchens each night with trays of untouched food, grocery shelves are cleared of items approaching their sell-by date, and families go to bed wondering how they'll put a meal on the table tomorrow. Two problems. One solution. One act of giving.
The name says it all. Like the saying — feed two birds with one scone — we saw an opportunity to address food waste and food insecurity in a single, coordinated effort. But unlike the saying, our approach isn't about force. It's about care, community, and the belief that what gets thrown away in one corner of a neighborhood can nourish someone in another.
We started small — with a shared conviction, a lot of heart, and the practical know-how to build something that works. We assembled a team of passionate volunteers, established the food safety protocols that every distribution deserves, and began building relationships with the local businesses, donors, and community organizations that make this work possible.
We're still early in our journey. But we believe that the most important thing a young nonprofit can do is show up consistently, operate with integrity, and never lose sight of the people at the center of the mission.
That's what Two Birds Foundation is built on — and we're just getting started.

True sustainability means caring for people as much as the planet. We believe every community deserves equal access to good food, every person deserves to be treated with dignity, and all of us share the responsibility to do better.
Starting today we build a world where no resources are wasted and no person is left behind.

To help build a future where hunger and food waste do not co-exist, yet kindness and equality do.

A just and sustainable world where no meal is wasted and no one goes without
Every person we serve deserves respect and is treated with dignity.
We treat food, resources, and relationships as precious and finite.
We believe in the power of neighbors caring for neighbors.
We are committed to serving those who need it most, without barriers.
Our model benefits people and the planet simultaneously.

Biography coming soon!
I watched perfectly good meals get thrown away at the end of an event, and just a few miles away, families were going to bed hungry. That contradiction stayed with me. It kept me up at night. And eventually, it moved us to act.
I am Emily Morrison — the originating founder of something we believe can make a real difference. We didn't start this organization because we had all the answers. We started it because we couldn't look the other way. We believe that food is a right, not a privilege, and that the communities around us deserve better than a system that wastes abundance while leaving people behind.
Two Birds is our answer to that belief. It is built on the conviction that sustainability and compassion are not separate goals — they are the same goal. That when we care for our neighbors, we care for our planet. And that ordinary people, working together with intention, can close the gap between what is and what should be.
We are just getting started, and we are filled with hope.
Thank you for believing in a world where hunger and food waste do not co-exist, yet kindness and equality do.
